Redefining technology innovation in the timber industry, every day.

We utilize the best technology available, including advanced optical imaging equipment, high speed dynamic decision processing computers, advanced alloys used in our cutting tools, computer controlled machine centers, moisture sorting for optimal lumber drying and automated lumber grading. These technological advancements give us the ability to efficiently produce high quality consistent lumber products.

We literally configure each and every cut in order to optimize the value of every log that comes through the facility. Optical scanners capture images and computers translate an ordinary looking log into 39,000 geometric data points that drive the manufacturing process. This allows us to saw to the curve of the log, achieve maximum grade recovery and ultimately produce straighter lumber, using the highest quality saw steels and tipping alloys. In the end, this process, combined with our development of by-products, has us using virtually every bit of the log and avoiding waste. Optimizing the value of every log is essential to our business, fulfilling our promise of quality and value.

After it's cut to size, all of our lumber is cured in dry kilns. A combination of weights, moisture, and a steam management system that was perfected at Idaho Forest Group, are all used to properly cure the lumber. Our lumber graders are literally champions in their field, winning numerous Western Wood Products Association awards. They ensure that our lumber meets all industry and customer standards. When you order from Idaho Forest Group, the shipment arrives neatly wrapped and tagged with a computerized bar code.

In short, we achieve consistent quality by combining premium fiber grown in the forests of the Inland West with experienced and highly trained people operating the most technology advanced machinery and equipment.
